Launch Integration · Launch Integration

Launch & Deployment Integration Engineer

Manage launch-vehicle interfaces, environmental requirements, dispenser integration, deployment sequencing and launch-site readiness.

Role mandate

Build the capability for the era ahead.

This team member will combine subject-matter depth, sound judgment and disciplined execution to move the mission from architecture to measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Launch Integration workstream for Launch & Deployment Integration Engineer and deliver measurable technical or operating outcomes.
  • Create repeatable plans, evidence and controls that demonstrate product and mission readiness.
  • Lead failure analysis, risk retirement, quality review and corrective action.
  • Coordinate suppliers, engineering teams and operations through integration and acceptance.

Required qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, environmental test, quality, reliability or safety.
  • Working knowledge of verification planning, nonconformance control and root-cause analysis.
  • Strong attention to traceability, documentation and measurable acceptance criteria.

Preferred experience

  • Experience with flight hardware, launch environments or radiation assurance.
  • Knowledge of recognized aerospace quality and mission-assurance practices.

Scientific and technical requirements

Physics, mathematics and engineering foundations

  • Verification engineering, reliability statistics, vibration/acoustics, thermal-vacuum physics, EMC, radiation effects, quality and configuration control.
  • Probability distributions, confidence intervals, Weibull/exponential life models, uncertainty and root-cause analysis.

Mathematics and working equations

  • For constant hazard λ, R(t) = e^(−λt) and MTBF = 1/λ; justify independence and mission-profile assumptions.
  • Random vibration uses acceleration power spectral density and integrated Grms; structural response is evaluated through transfer functions and modal models.
  • Thermal-vacuum balance uses conductive and radiative heat equations; radiation assurance closes TID, displacement damage and SEE rates with margin.
  • Failure-mode risk priority and fault-tree probability must preserve traceability to evidence and common-cause dependencies.

Hardware, flight and infrastructure components

  • Flight and ground-support equipment, harnesses, connectors, mechanical fixtures, cleanroom controls, simulators, EGSE and calibrated instrumentation.
  • Thermal-vacuum chamber, shaker, acoustic facility, shock equipment, EMC chamber, radiation sources/beam facilities and non-destructive inspection tools.

Software, laboratory and analysis tools

  • Requirements/test management, configuration and nonconformance systems, statistical analysis, FRACAS, FMEA/FMECA and fault-tree software.
  • Automated test equipment, data acquisition, metrology, contamination monitoring and manufacturing execution/traceability systems.

Verification and mission skills

  • Control procedures, configuration, calibration, workmanship, test limits, redlines, anomalies, retest logic and objective acceptance evidence.
  • Demonstrate interface compatibility and mission readiness from component qualification through system acceptance and launch-site operations.

Authoritative technical references

The hiring sequence will follow operating milestones and project requirements. The position may begin through advisory, consulting or project-based work before moving into a full-time role.
