Getting startedWhat does Youniverse1 do?
Youniverse1 scopes and designs communications between enterprise sites, ground infrastructure and celestial networks. A customer engagement starts with the information that must move and the outcomes it supports.
Getting startedWho is this site for?
It is for satellite operators, network teams, infrastructure providers and enterprises exploring terrestrial or celestial connectivity.
Getting startedDo I need to operate satellites to work with you?
No. A project can be entirely terrestrial, including campus links, fiber paths, gateways, resilience and network integration.
Getting startedWhere should a new customer begin?
Start with the network-services overview, then choose a device or pilot that matches your use case. Contact us to turn that starting point into a scoped engagement.
Getting startedCan we focus on one urgent connection?
Yes. A single site, route, handoff or workload can be the first scope. The design still records dependencies and a path to scale.
Getting startedIs every service shown available as a deployed product?
No. The site includes concepts, reference architectures and test pilots. Availability, equipment, performance and delivery commitments are established in a customer agreement.
Getting startedWhat information helps an initial discussion?
Share the sites or endpoints, the data flow, existing transport, capacity and availability goals, security constraints and desired timing. Exact specifications can be developed during discovery.
Getting startedCan you work with an existing network team?
Yes. The engagement can complement an internal team, carrier, integrator or satellite operator, with responsibilities recorded in the agreed scope.
Star Jumper & constellationsWhat is Star Jumper?
Star Jumper is the celestial network architecture presented on this site. Its interlinks, orbital choices and ground handoffs are explored as scoped design and test scenarios.
Star Jumper & constellationsWhy does the dashboard begin with MEO?
MEO is the default reference scenario for the interactive constellation view. It is a design scenario, not a claim that an operational constellation is in orbit.
Star Jumper & constellationsCan I compare LEO, MEO and GEO?
Yes. Use the orbit selector in the constellation and pilot dashboards to explore different reference geometries and service implications.
Star Jumper & constellationsDo the animated satellites show live telemetry?
No. They are illustrative simulation visuals for planning and discussion; they do not represent live spacecraft positions or service availability.
Star Jumper & constellationsWhat is a satellite interlink?
It is a link between spacecraft used to move traffic across a constellation. A real implementation needs compatible terminals, pointing, routing and operations.
Star Jumper & constellationsWhat changes as a constellation grows?
Coverage, contact opportunities, routing, gateway demand, operations and failure handling all change. A pilot should measure the assumptions before growth is planned.
Star Jumper & constellationsCan a constellation use several gateways?
Yes. Gateway placement and quantity depend on geography, capacity, regulation, weather, diversity and the customer service path.
Star Jumper & constellationsAre the gateway markers real facilities?
No. The reference constellation uses illustrative gateway locations. A deployment requires site selection, rights, engineering and validation.
Optical devicesWhich device types are shown?
The site describes satellite interlink terminals, space-to-ground terminals, fixed optical ground stations, mobile ground terminals, terrestrial laser links and enterprise gateways.
Optical devicesWhat does a space-to-ground terminal do?
It moves mission data between a spacecraft and compatible ground equipment when geometry and conditions permit.
Optical devicesWhat is a fixed optical ground station?
It is a permanent ground segment with tracking optics, control systems, power, operations and backhaul into a terrestrial network.
Optical devicesWhen would a mobile ground terminal be useful?
A mobile terminal can support a temporary site, field operation or test, subject to setup, power, pointing and backhaul requirements.
Optical devicesWhat does the enterprise gateway connect?
It joins transport paths to an organization's routing, security, applications, monitoring and operational processes.
Optical devicesAre the device images product photographs?
No. They are concept visuals used to explain device roles. A customer design specifies actual equipment and suppliers separately.
Optical devicesCan we use equipment we already own?
Possibly. Discovery checks interfaces, protocols, capacity, lifecycle, support and security before recommending reuse or replacement.
Optical devicesWhat must be tested before an optical link goes live?
Typical checks include line of sight, pointing, link budget, weather effects, safety, power, backhaul, monitoring and recovery.
Terrestrial networksWhat is a terrestrial laser link?
It is a ground-to-ground free-space optical path between locations with suitable line of sight and site conditions.
Terrestrial networksDoes a laser link replace fiber?
It can complement fiber where appropriate. Fiber, radio and optical alternatives should be compared against capacity, resilience, timing and cost requirements.
Terrestrial networksDo you show existing undersea cables?
The terrestrial dashboard provides illustrative corridors and references for exploring intercontinental fiber routes. It is not a utility locate or an authoritative cable ownership map.
Terrestrial networksHow do US, Europe and Asia-Pacific paths connect?
A design maps terrestrial carriers, submarine segments, landing points, data centers and enterprise handoffs, then evaluates redundancy and jurisdiction.
Terrestrial networksCan we start with a campus network?
Yes. The campus pilot examines a bounded service path, measures a baseline and identifies what must change for more sites.
Terrestrial networksHow is path diversity evaluated?
We document physical routes, providers, landing points, power dependencies and shared failure domains rather than relying on a single logical diagram.
Terrestrial networksWhat happens when an optical path is unavailable?
A scoped design defines alternate paths, switching behavior, alerting and restoration expectations. The pilot tests the chosen recovery pattern.
Terrestrial networksCan existing carriers be included?
Yes. Carrier services and contracts can be inputs to the architecture, with handoff and support responsibilities made explicit.
Pilots & scalingWhat is a Youniverse1 pilot?
A pilot is a bounded test with an agreed starting condition, objective, evidence, acceptance criteria and expansion decision.
Pilots & scalingCan I run a pilot on the website?
The Pilot Lab offers local, illustrative scenarios. It helps explore options but does not connect to customer infrastructure or operate production devices.
Pilots & scalingWhich ground-network pilots are offered?
The pilot library covers campus optical connections, ground-station readiness, deployable terminals, enterprise gateways and failover scenarios.
Pilots & scalingIs there a Star Jumper pilot?
Yes. Star Jumper scenarios explore interlinks, space-to-ground paths, gateway coverage and growth assumptions in a test environment.
Pilots & scalingWhat does pilot acceptance mean?
Acceptance is a documented decision against agreed measures such as throughput, availability, recovery time, integration and operational evidence.
Pilots & scalingHow is scaling included from the beginning?
A pilot records demand forecasts, failure domains, monitoring, support capacity, repeatable deployment steps and gates for the next expansion stage.
Pilots & scalingCan a pilot be customized?
Yes. Standard scenarios are starting points; the actual customer pilot can be scoped around specific sites, traffic and constraints.
Pilots & scalingDoes a website simulation guarantee performance?
No. Performance figures require measurement with the selected equipment, path and operating environment.
Security & quantumIs post-quantum cryptography the same as quantum key distribution?
No. Post-quantum cryptography uses conventional computing with algorithms designed for quantum-resistant security. Quantum key distribution uses a different physical approach and requires separately scoped infrastructure.
Security & quantumDo you require quantum hardware for every network?
No. Conventional network design and a staged post-quantum migration may be appropriate without quantum communications hardware.
Security & quantumHow is security included in a network design?
We identify trust boundaries, identity and key management, segmentation, monitoring, incident response and responsibilities at every handoff.
Security & quantumCan quantum networking be piloted?
A pilot can test a clearly defined quantum or post-quantum use case if equipment, partners, constraints and acceptance measures are available.
Security & quantumDoes a pilot establish compliance?
No. Compliance requires the applicable requirements, evidence, independent review where needed and the customer's own governance decisions.
Security & quantumWhat standards guide post-quantum planning?
NIST's published post-quantum cryptography standards are a useful foundation. The applicable profile, interoperability and migration plan depend on the customer environment.
Commercial & supportHow is a project priced?
Scope and price are developed from requirements, sites, devices, integration, support and acceptance obligations. The website does not present a universal deployment price.
Commercial & supportWhat goes into a service level agreement?
An agreement can define the covered service, measurement method, availability target, support hours, incident response, exclusions, reporting and remedies.
Commercial & supportWho owns customer data and network decisions?
Ownership, access and retention are defined in the customer agreement. The customer approves production changes and operational responsibilities.
Commercial & supportHow do I request a proposal?
Use the Contact page and describe your use case, geography, current network and desired outcome. We can then identify the information needed for a scoped proposal.
Commercial & supportHow do Galaxity AI and Enterprise Horizon fit in?
Youniverse1 focuses on network architecture; Galaxity AI and Enterprise Horizon address adjacent intelligence, assessment and enterprise solution workflows. An engagement can use one or combine them.
Commercial & supportWill I need to replace my current network?
Not necessarily. The first step is to assess what already works, where there are gaps and whether targeted integration creates more value.
Star Jumper & constellationsHow do optical satellite communications work?
An optical terminal sends information on a tightly directed laser beam. A receiving terminal tracks that beam and converts the signal back into data. Orbital geometry, pointing and atmospheric conditions matter to the design.
Terrestrial networksWhere can I see public undersea fiber cable routes?
The public TeleGeography map shows known submarine cable systems. A customer network design still needs current route, landing, carrier and diversity verification.
Security & quantumWhat is machine learning or a neural network?
Machine learning is a general field in which models learn patterns from examples. Neural networks are one family of models. The linked NIST guidance and research paper explain public concepts; they do not describe our internal implementation.
Security & quantumCan visitors inspect our source code, model internals, algorithms or client data?
No. We explain publicly documented technology and customer-facing capabilities. Internal source code, model designs, algorithms, prompts, credentials, configurations, private network details and client information are restricted.
No matching public answer. Try a technology term or choose all topics. Internal code, algorithms, configurations and client information are not available here.
